Chanson D'Amour, is an afternoon of sublime French music, showcasing talented soprano Katie Stenzel and Venezuelan baritone, Camilo Lopez, accompanied by crowd favourite pianist Alex Raineri. It is quite the coup for Maleny Arts Council to attract three such high quality artists to Maleny for one very special performance.
Since Katie Stenzel's previous performance in Maleny, she has built an outstanding career performing across Australia and internationally with companies including, Opera Australia, Opera Queensland, State Opera of South Australia, Brisbane Festival, The Adelaide Fringe Festival, and the Taipei Drama Festival in Taiwan. We are thrilled to welcome her back.
Camilo is a rising operatic baritone with a multi-faceted career. In 2023, Camilo made his soloist debut at the Queensland Art Song Festival and joined Opera Australia and Opera Queensland’s ensemble for the first Wagner Ring Cycle. Since then his career has taken off -this year performing a recital for Opera Queensland as well as at other festivals and concerts. He is Artistic Director and Co-Founder of the Voxalis Opera and we are delighted to welcome him to Maleny for his debut performance.
Popular pianist Alex Raineri who we have become very familiar with over the years, has especially curated this beautiful program to appeal to Maleny Arts Council audiences.
