The Maleny Arts Council invites you to our opening 2024 performance - an intimate afternoon of chamber music making in the Maleny Community Centre.

Hear two of Australia’s leading artists of their generation, Courtenay Cleary (violin) and Alex Raineri (piano). They present a thrilling program which offers virtuosity and tenderness in equal measure. This stunning program features Sonatas by Beethoven and Respighi, and three beautiful Romances by Clara Schumann.

While this is Courtenay's first recital in the Maleny Community Centre, she
has become a sought after soloist and chamber musician on Australian stages having returned from her studies at The Julliard School, New York and the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Amongst many acclaimed performances, Courtenay performed as a soloist for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and other distinguished guests at Westminster Abbey for the Royal Commonwealth Service. This was broadcast live on BBC television. Click here to witness this fine performance.

Courtenay again performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace for the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
During her time in London, she performed as a soloist at prestigious venues including the Wigmore Hall, St James’ Piccadilly, the Regent Hall and Colston Hall.

Pianist Alex Raineri returns by popular demand having become a favourite with our audiences. Alex continues to build an outstanding career directing his own Brisbane Music Festival and recently returning from performances in Europe.
